Who knows? Playing underneath a soloist is not an Who knows? Playing underneath a soloist is not an exact science. But I saw a video by @chickcorea where he said to think about your fingers as members of a big band. Therefore, comp like you’re a big band with backgrounds. That makes sense to me but there’s never anything wrong with keeping it simple either. Less is more. I love contemporary music but give me a blues at this tempo with these cats and I’ll take that all day! #ericbyrdtrio #getinthatshed
