Eric Byrd is officially launching his private music lesson studio.

The ideal student is any pianist, instrumentalist, or vocalist interested in jazz improvisation.  Musicians must be proficient readers, have an understanding of basic theory, and technique, and be willing to consistently practice and attend lessons.

Students must be jazz fans!  They already listen to the music and desire a teacher to take them to the next level of jazz competency.  No prior jazz experience is necessary.  Humility and openness are character traits for the budding improvisor.  I welcome supportive parents but this must be student-driven!

Eric is the leader of the award-winning Eric Byrd Trio and serves on the faculty at Gettysburg College’s Sunderland Conservatory and Shenandoah University’s Music Conservatory.  He is uniquely qualified and positioned to educate the jazz improvisers of tomorrow.
